From a brand-new weekly market to hidden farm stands and alpaca encounters, here is how to eat—and shop—like a local in Buellton.
1. The New Monday Tradition: Buellton Farmer’s Market
There’s a new reason to love Mondays! The Buellton Farmer’s Market has officially arrived at the Avenue of Flags. This isn’t just a grocery trip; it’s a weekly community celebration that brings the best of the Central Coast to one convenient spot.
- The Harvest: You’ll find stalls overflowing with fresh, locally sourced fruits and vegetables, plus vibrant fresh flowers, bouquets, and succulents to brighten up your home.
- From the Land & Sea: Stock your fridge with meat from local ranches and locally sourced seafood that’s as fresh as it gets. Don’t forget a jar of local honey or some gourmet pet food and treats for your furry friends back home.
- Ready-to-Eat Treats: Come hungry! You can snack on handmade tamales and freshly popped kettlecorn while you browse. Before you leave, grab some freshly baked breads, pastries, jams, and local hummus for the perfect picnic spread.

If you’re visiting over the weekend, make a pilgrimage to the Santa Rosa Road Farm Stand by Something Good Organics. Located at 9499 Santa Rosa Road, this stand is open Saturdays and Sundays (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM). It’s a true “farm-to-bag” experience where you can stock up on 100% organic produce grown right in our backyard.
For a curated taste of the region, Motley Crew Marketplace is a must-visit (open Tuesday–Saturday) at 225 McMurray Road, Suite F. This isn’t your average grocery store; it’s a hub for regenerative agriculture. They specialize in high-quality, locally sourced meats—like Wagyu steaks and Santa Carota beef—and fresh seafood. It’s the perfect place to find that “secret ingredient” or a unique artisan gift!
Did you know your morning caffeine fix could come with a side of fluff? Be sure to add an immersive tour of Zaca Creek Ranch to your agr-itinerary and learn all about this incredible family-run farm located just north of Buellton, off of Highway 101. (Address details are available upon securing your reservation!) Here’s what you can look forward to during your visit:
- The Experience: Guests of the ranch get to learn all about operations for the 1,600 acre cattle ranch, enjoy stunning vistas of the region, and meet the resident alpacas and llamas as they happily graze under the beautiful oak trees.
- The Marketplace: Following your tour, explore the General Store & Beef Market highlighting the bounty of the ranch. In addition to Alpaca fiber blankets, apparel, and toys; you can pick up farm-fresh ingredients for home and the full assortment of Zaca Creek Coffee offerings, roasted right here in Buellton.
Just a short, scenic drive away lies Sta. Rita Hills Lavender at 1900 Tularosa Road, Lompoc. This family-run farm is a sensory dream. Wander through fragrant fields (bloom peaks June–August!) and shop their boutique for handcrafted soaps, culinary lavender, and farmhouse decor.

You can’t talk about food in Buellton without mentioning Industrial Eats at 181 Industrial Way. This legendary eatery embodies the “Rooted in Buellton” spirit. Their ever-changing menu is sourced from local sustainable farms and fisheries, transformed into world-class dishes in their wood-fired ovens.
- The Food: The menu is hand-written on butcher paper and changes constantly based on what’s fresh. Expect wood-fired pizzas, house-cured meats, and seasonal vegetables that prove that when ingredients are this fresh, they speak for themselves.
