The fourth annual SYV Holiday Lights Festival, hosted by the Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden, will take place over the course of 3 weekends in December! Dates this year are December 5th – 6th; 12th – 14th and 19th – 21st.
Guests can purchase tickets on select dates and times between 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and the Enchanted Garden opens at 5:30 p.m. All guests are welcome to join us from 5 – 9 p.m. regardless of your scheduled ticket.
This Country Styled Celebration includes visits and photos with Santa; Holiday Market Place; play in the falling snow; delicious food trucks and snacks; roasted marshmallows; and entertainment! There are also small mechanical rides for children, including the mini Polar Express (tickets for rides are purchased separately).
For guests over 21, we have mulled wine, cocktails, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. beer and local wine for purchase.
This will be a one-of-a-kind lighted display, an immersive experience in our half-acre illuminated Garden to get everyone into the Holiday Spirit! The Santa Ynez Botanic Garden is located at the West end of River View Park.
This all-ages event will not only allow guests to stroll the Santa Ynez Valley Botanic Garden through a maze of lights, it will also feature pictures with Santa, Falling Snow, Christmas Carolers, Merchant and Food Vendors, and Beer and Wine for adults.
Visitors are encouraged to wear warm clothes, Santa hats and Ugly Christmas Sweaters!

Join CalNAM and Artist Katherine Taylor of Poetry Frog for a paper mosaics workshop on Thursday, January 29th, 2026, from 9AM-11:30AM. Katherine will guide attendees through planning and arranging their very own animal portrait with a variety of colorful and patterned paper options. Attendees should either bring an animal photo that they connect with (such as a pet photo), or may choose from one of the provided examples.
This is an entry-level class, but experienced artists are always welcome.
About the Instructor:
An accomplished muralist, illustrator, teacher & author, Katherine Taylor specializes in creating endearing animal portraits. Her vibrant, cheerful murals and paintings have been featured throughout California, including Children’s Hospital of Orange, the Santa Maria Strawberry Festival, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, the city of Brea, and numerous other locations. The purpose of her work is to create art that sparks spontaneous smiles from the viewer and make the world a little happier.
The class fee for this workshop is $35 for CalNAM Members and $40 for CalNAM Non-Members, per participant, all supplies included. Advance registration is required, 15 attendees max. This class is best suited for ages 14yrs .

Join the California Nature Art Museum and Artisan Perfumer Susan Farber for an immersive, hands-on natural perfume-making workshop on Sunday, February 8th from 1PM-4PM in celebration of Valentine’s Day. You’ll explore the rose—the flower of love—and create your own custom fragrance with rose at its heart.
During this creative experience, you’ll craft your own natural perfume with a curated selection of exquisite essential oils and absolutes—each chosen to complement the rose and enrich your fragrance design. You’ll learn the essentials of perfume structure and formulation, and receive personalized guidance to bring out the type of rose you wish to express—whether fresh, fruity, musky, spicy, sweet—so your fragrance becomes uniquely your own.
About the Instructor:
Susan is the founder and creator of Sol Aromatics, a collection of perfume and aromatherapy products and services to inspire positive mind, body, and feeling states supporting the spiral of life (SOL). Please note, at
this family-friendly class, all students ages 11 and under must be accompanied
by a paid, participating adult. The instructor encourages full-family
