Daily Trail Rides & Pony Encounters Age 2+
The team at Santa Ynez Valley Horseback Rides is located just off of River View Park, and offers a variety of activities for all ages and levels of experience. All of their horses are retired champion show, rodeo and ranch horses; and general trail rides are available for riders 8 and older.
Families interested in heading out on the trail together can book a personal guided trail ride for participants 6 and older; which includes an introduction to horses and riding for the youngest participants, before they head out on their own horse with an experienced guide at their side.
Kids in the 2-12 range love the magical pony encounters, which include a guided pony ride around the arena, and a short trail ride if the rider and parents are comfortable! What makes this a magical pony encounter, you might ask? “Unicorn” ponies are available by request!
Last but not least is a visit to their petting zoo. This is included in the cost of the magical pony encounters, or $15 for a 30-minute session if this is all your little ones want to do.

Guests can have up close encounters – and even feed these bad boys – on a self guided tour or with one of the facility’s amazing team members. Learn fun facts and find plenty of photo ops at this one-of-a-kind landmark.
